occupation

The Dark Side is a television film from the crime series Tatort . The episode was produced by Südwestrundfunk under the direction of Thomas Freundner and first broadcast on German television on May 6, 2007. It is the 665th episode of the crime scene and 41st episode with Ludwigshafen investigator Lena Odenthal ( Ulrike Folkerts ). For her colleague Mario Kopper ( Andreas Hoppe ) it is the 32nd case.

action

Shortly before they continue their journey, truck drivers Holger Lindner and Michael Reichelt are threatened with guns by two masked men at a service area. Reichelt can take a masked man by surprise and get hold of his weapon. After being asked to unmask, a third person with an iron bar suddenly comes along, who repeatedly hits Reichelt - according to Lindner. The future father Reichelt is dead. The load, 500 flat screens with a black market value of € 250,000, has disappeared, while the iron bar and truck are quickly found.

Ansgar Thiele, who was originally intended for the trip, is suspected of being dismissive and has a criminal record. However, he cannot be identified by a witness. Then an attack on Anna and Holger is carried out in the Lindner house, which Holger does not survive. Forensic technician Becker can deduce from the traces on the iron bar that Lindner must have killed his co-driver Reichelt. Lindner had assigned him especially for the trip because he had planned the attack to rescue the ailing haulage company together with friend Alex Vohwinkel and brother-in-law Benny and had not expected Reichelt's resistance. The two accuse each other of having killed Holger. The solution is much more tragic: Anna Lindner wanted to finally leave her husband in the women's shelter because of repeated abuse, who attacked her brutally and mother-in-law Maria Wieland put an end to the hustle and bustle.

criticism

Rainer Tittelbach from tittelbach.tv writes: “Right from the start there was a strange atmosphere in this 'crime scene' around Lena Odenthal. As manageable as the case [...] initially seems, the characters that Thomas Freundner presents to the viewer without any aesthetic frills are just as inscrutable. Secrets are always good in a thriller "and so the film surprises with" unusual dramaturgical finesse. "

The critics of the TV magazine TV Spielfilm give the thumbs up for this crime scene and say approvingly: "Milieukrimi told according to old school."
