occupation

The Lipstick Murderer is a television film from the crime series Tatort . The episode was produced by Südwestrundfunk under the direction of Andreas Senn and first broadcast on German television on August 27, 2006. It is the 638th episode of the crime scene and 38th episode with the Ludwigshafen investigator Lena Odenthal ( Ulrike Folkerts ). For her colleague Mario Kopper ( Andreas Hoppe ) it is the 29th case.

action

Commissioner Lena Odenthal is called to Angerburg train station. A girl seems to be sitting on a bench on the platform, but she is dead. It is the pharmacist's daughter Nicole Schmehle and the officials suspect a sexual offense. Since a penal system for sex offenders has been set up in the area for three years , it seems obvious that an inmate used his free space to commit a crime. However, the pathological examination shows that she was not raped, but presumably suffocated with her own jacket. The perpetrator then applied the lipstick fresh so that it was not smeared, which corresponds to the perpetrator image of Holly Eising. The inquiry in the penal institution shows that the prisoner is considered untreatable and is not an outdoor prisoner. Even so, he claims that he actually suffocated the girl. Odenthal is certain that Holly only wants to provoke the officers with his claim and that there may be a copycat offender. Secret escape from the secured facility is absolutely impossible. So Odenthal speaks alone to Holly again, who then admits that he only made the confession to annoy his therapist.

Nici had allegedly spent the last night with her school friend Caro. She wanted to give her an alibi because Nici wanted to spend the evening with her boyfriend Florian even longer than her parents would have allowed. When Odenthal and Kopper question the young man, he states that Nicole had ended their relationship three weeks ago and that he had therefore not met her. Investigators are amazed that their best friend allegedly did not know this. It is also unclear what Nicole wanted alone at the train station. Maybe she had a secret relationship. The car mechanic Rolf Czerni is suspected, but denies having had a relationship with the girl. This would also give Czerni's wife a motive to get her possible rival out of the way. She also works in the penal system and comes into contact with Holly there, which could have given her the idea of blaming the "lipstick killer" for the crime. However, this is contradicted by the fact that both Rolf Czerni and his wife have an alibi for the time of the crime.

Odenthal and Kopper try to find the solution through Nici's friend Caro. But she is not at home and so they talk to Caro's father, who has been alone with his daughter since the death of his wife. They find out that the girl is very attached to her father and was obviously jealous too. Odenthal is certain that Caro has misinterpreted a few things. Her father says he has had a girlfriend for three weeks and so as not to worry his daughter, he only met her in secret. Caro would therefore have assumed that Nici was having a relationship with her father. When the latter also reported that Caro had found the victim of the "lipstick killer" at that time, the commissioner realized a lot.

Meanwhile Mrs. Czerni helps Holly to escape. She hopes this will dispel suspicions against her husband. Holly takes the train away from Angerburg and meets Caro Grünters there. He speaks to her and they both talk to each other all night. The police are already looking for the escape. Odenthal fears the worst and when Holly is caught it is not clear what happened to Caro. Fortunately, the commissioner finds the girl unharmed. In her grief, she tells Odenthal that she called Florian so he could stop Nici and not drive her to her appointment. He accidentally suffocated her.

criticism

Tilmann P. Gangloff from tittelbach.tv writes appreciatively: “Author Christoph Darnstädt and director Andreas Senn tell their winding story in a completely unpretentious yet captivating way. A concentrated staged thriller with, without exception, aptly cast, very good actors and an extraordinary resolution. "

The critics of the television magazine TV Spielfilm think this crime scene is only mediocre and say: "Not a stupid story, but unfortunately it was implemented without any juice or power."
