Götz Heinrich Albrecht von Götz (born February 9, 1881 in Brandenburg an der Havel , † March 22, 1954 in Magdeburg ) was a German administrative officer.

Life

Götz von Götz studied law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . In 1900 he became a member of the Corps Vandalia Heidelberg . After graduating, he entered the Prussian civil service. In 1908 he passed the government assessor exam with the government in Kassel . After working as a government assessor, including about 1910 in Geestemünde , he was from 1916 to 1919 District Administrator of the district Waldenburg . As a result, he was last active as a government councilor in the province of Magdeburg . After the liberation of Magdeburg from the Nazi dictatorship by US troops in May 1945, Götz was appointed Upper President of the Magdeburg Province and, at the same time, President of the Magdeburg District in place of the Gauleiter Rudolf Jordan who had fled . After Magdeburg was handed over to the Soviet military administration, the province of Magdeburg was merged with the province of Halle-Merseburg and the state of Anhalt to form the new province of Saxony . Götz soon retired. Until his death he lived as District President a. D. in Magdeburg .
