occupation

You are mine is the 975th episode in the crime series Tatort . The report produced by SWR under the direction of Roland Suso Richter was broadcast on the television station Das Erste on February 14, 2016 . It is the 55th case of the Ludwigshafen investigator duo Odenthal and Kopper .

action

In Ludwigshafen, the young ballet dancer Marie Rainders is raped in a parking garage. Her mother Birte and Marie's friend Evelyn Zoller watch over the bedside of the young woman who has been in a coma ever since.

Six weeks later, bodybuilder Tarim Kosic was found dead in the same parking garage where Marie was previously the victim of the violence. Tarim was crushed between two cars and then set on fire. Although most of the traces became unusable by the fire, the investigators found anabolic steroids in the dead man's car. Investigations in the nearby fitness studio enable the investigators to clarify the dead person's identity and at the same time track down Kosic's friend Daniel Peters, who trained there with Tarim and is involved in the business with illegal nutritional supplements. First of all, the investigators assume that Kosic had to die because he endangered the business of the competition by selling anabolic steroids. However, the forensic DNA examination of the dead person reveals that Tarim Kosic was Marie Rainders' rapist. Neither Evelyn Zoller nor Marie's mother Birte are particularly affected by this news, rather they feel a certain satisfaction.

The reconstruction of the course of events allows the investigators to conclude that the perpetrator did not act alone. The violent death of Tarim Kosic puts Birte Rainders as a potential suspect at the center of the investigation. In addition, it is initially unclear what role rapper Yago Torres will play in the case. Evelyn says Yago and Marie have a love affair. The investigators do not rule out the musician's involvement in the act of violence.

Daniel Peters is brought to the presidium by the investigators and collapses during the interrogation there. The doctors summoned can only determine his death. It is believed that Peter's water bottle was poisoned in the gym.

This assumption is true. When Daniel Peters and Chiara Scheffler, the gym's receptionist, retired to the shower rooms for a shepherd’s hour, Evelyn took the chance to poison Peters. She had previously run over Kosic in the parking garage and set fire to it. When Birte Rainders, after her daughter, who is still in a coma, has had a stroke, she decides to switch off the life support systems, Evelyn goes to the hospital and tries to convince Birte Rainders not to let Marie die. When Birte Rainders refuses to change her mind, Evelyn stabs her with a kitchen knife. As a motive, the girl drove the obsessive adoration of her friend Marie, who she not only filmed with her cell phone, but who she had also built a shrine in her home.

Ultimately, at Birte Rainders' request, Chief Inspector Lena Odenthal switched off the life support systems in order to let her daughter go.

Filming locations were Ludwigshafen , Baden-Baden , Karlsruhe , Mannheim , Rastatt and Offenburg .

Recordings of the episode You belong to me were made on seven days of shooting in Ludwigshafen . The parking garage on Zollhofstrasse in Ludwigshafen was used as a backdrop for the acts of violence and murders. The scenes depicting Birte Rainder's apartment took place in the adjoining residential building on Rheinuferstraße. Not far from these addresses, a fitness studio was set up for filming in the Bürgerhof . Further recordings were made on four days of shooting in the St. Josef Clinic in Offenburg in collaboration with the nursing staff there. The exterior shots, which show the entrance area of the hospital immediately before the credits, were taken at the St. Marien Hospital in Ludwigshafen on Salzburger Strasse and Betty-Imperto-Strasse.

The opening credits are accompanied by the song Holocene by Bon Iver from 2011. This title is picked up again in a later scene with Chief Inspector Lena Odenthal and Birte Rainders on the balcony of their apartment and can also be heard immediately before the credits.

In the course of the episode, the title Eres Tú by MC Sesman can be heard several times, including in the fitness studio and when visiting the sick , at the same time excerpts of the associated video can be seen, in which the two actors Elisa Afie Agbaglah participated as a dancer and Matthias Weidenhöfer as a rapper. For this title, which was produced especially for the crime scene, MC Sesman and his producer Criss Tonino took up the theme from the ballet Swan Lake . After the episode was first broadcast, the title entered the iTunes charts at number 49 , and it was listed at number 33 in the download charts at Amazon.com . Two other songs by MC Sesman were used in the Tatort episode. MC Sesman's real name is Jorge Andres Diaz Leiva and lives in Heidelberg-Rohrbach , the region where the crime scene You belong to me is set. A friend of the musician had made the production team aware of the rapper, who had never seen a crime scene before. He can be seen in a cameo as a sound engineer and advised the actors on styles and skills.

The sex scene with Chiara Scheffler and Daniel Peters in the washrooms of the fitness studio is titled Too Many Rappers by the Beastie Boys from 2009. During the joint visit to the Italian restaurant by Commissioner Johanna Stern and Chief Commissioner Mario Kopper, Volare (Nel blu dipinto di blu) in the version by Gianna Nannini from 2014 is on. criticism

Detlef Hartlap , chief editor of prisma , called the episode an "extremely attractive crime scene from Ludwigshafen" and emphasized that this was "the second in a row that you can say that about" after Tatort LU . The fact that the "up to now abundant disputes within the Lena Odenthal team are placed on a solid, comprehensible Dortmund foundation," which are comparable to the Faber, Bönisch, Dalay and Kossik team , may be due to the fact that the script by Jürgen Werner was written, from whose pen the Dortmund crime scene inspector comes. In addition, the film takes the viewer “into concrete parking garages that can only be built by madmen” and touches on the Mannheim music scene, which the viewer “cannot really learn to appreciate” . The central element of the episode is self-portrayal in Web 2.0 , "the reflection of me and us by phone and camera is omnipresent and it reaches its climax in a sex scene on the toilet of a fitness club , which is already gripping because of the sheer wretchedness" , judges Hartlap.

According to the judgment of Sascha Martens of the Westfälische Nachrichten , the episode delivers “childish bickering” under the guise of a “revenge story” , whereby it fails to address “to what extent vengeance has a place in a constitutional state” , which would have been “interesting” . Because "unfortunately the problem is only touched on marginally and an opportunity for depth is wasted" , regrets Martens. The fact that the classic question about the perpetrator was chosen as the “motor of the crime thriller” was less “unfavorable” had the case not been “so simple” . Martens dismisses the quarrels between the investigators, praised by other film critics, as the “typical bickering” that seems “rather childish” .
