Christoph Darnstädt (* 1960 ) is a German screenwriter .

Life

Christoph Darnstädt is the son of children's belly author Helge Darnstädt . His older brother is the lawyer and journalist Thomas Darnstädt , who works for Spiegel . His father was also a dramaturge and journalist. He studied literature and Romance studies at the Free University of Berlin . During his studies he wrote for several magazines and in 1992 he wrote the first scripts for the children's series Achterbahn . Soon afterwards he worked as a script editor for television series like Gute Zeiten, Bad Zeiten , All together - each for himself and behind bars - Der Frauenknast . Since 2006 he has also been involved as a screenwriter in the Tatort series , especially in relation to the commissioners Tschiller and Gümer .

Together with Don Bohlinger , he was recognized for his work on the literary adaptation Das Experiment 2001 at the Bavarian Film Prize for Best Screenplay. In 2004 he was awarded the Robert Geisendörfer Prize for his screenplay for Section 40, Episode: Streets of the Night . For his screenplay for the comedy The Chambermaid and the Millionaire , Darnstädt was awarded the German Television Prize 2005 for the best book.
