After the good ghost beats Eddie several times and violates the professional laws, he is condemned by the high council of spirits to eke out his existence as a genie in a bottle until he is released. When the hotel employee Paula freed him over 100 years later, Eddie had no idea what was in store for him: Deprived of his magic skills, he now had to grant his mistress five wishes. This turns out to be difficult if only because Paula initially thinks he is a madman. In order to convince her of the opposite, Eddie fulfills her first wishes, but because of the lack of magical powers he resorts to harsh methods and threatens to come into conflict with the earthly lawmen.
