Leopold Altenburg
Leopold Altenburg (* 1971 in Graz ) is an Austrian actor .
Life
Leopold Altenburg was born as the grandson of Clemens Salvator of Austria-Tuscany . From 1991 to 1995 he studied acting at the Vienna Conservatory , one of his teachers was Elfriede Ott . He completed speech training with Adelheid Pillmann and singing training with Carol Byers.
In the movie I vow of Murnberger he played in 1994 the role of Tomschitz, in pace of Stefan Ruzowitzky he played in 1996 Jojo's brother. After appearances at the Vienna Volkstheater and the Salzburg Festival , he was a member of the ensemble at the Theaterlabor Bielefeld from 1999 to 2002 , where he staged Macbeth and also played the title role. Other stations included the Hexenkessel Hoftheater in Berlin and the Berliner Compagnie , the fringe ensemble in Bonn and the summer serenades in Graz .
In the documentary film Relationships by Calle Overweg , which premiered at the Berlinale 2012 , he had a leading role as Herrmann. In 2017 he was in the episode Three Angels on the Astray in the ZDF series Weißblaue Wintergeschichten alongside Dieter Fischer and Max Schmidt as circus artist Adalbert Stelzer and in the quiz show Spiel für dein Land - The largest quiz in Europe . In 2018, he played Emperor Karl I of Austria in the Universum History episode The Emperor's betrayal of the Sixtus affair , and he played in the documentary Anton Schmid - The Good Man of Wilna in the ORF contemporary history series Menschen & Mächte (2020) the resistance fighter Anton Schmid .
With Thorsten Wadowski he founded the music cabaret duo Leopold & Wadowski in 1999 . As a hospital clown he worked for the Red Noses in Vienna and since 2003 for the Red Noses Germany in Berlin and also trains hospital clowns.
