content

Sonia is a fun-loving student in her early twenties who lives in Berlin . She studied at the Free University of Mathematics and strikes with part-time jobs through the day. In the evening she is out and about in the Berlin club scene, where she experiences some one-night stands, including the bartender Milan. One day Sonia meets the bon vivant Ladja, a young man with Polish roots, in Mauerpark . They spend a lot of time together and Ladja will soon move in with her, but gradually the money for living and for drugs and parties is running out. Sonia loses her waiter job and Ladja confesses to her that she used to sell herself on the line. The job search turns out to be difficult. Sonia finally finds employment as a webcam girl. The couple eventually grows apart because she spends a lot of time on her new job - allegedly in a call center - and on her studies.

When her boss no longer allows her to study while she is working, Sonia quits and answers an ad with Anja. She runs a brothel called "Oase" in a prefabricated apartment at Kottbusser Tor , where Sonia hires as a prostitute . In addition to her new job, in which she calls herself Mascha, and the revival of the relationship with Ladja, her studies are now neglected. The other prostitutes are like family to Sonia, but after a while Anja sells the brothel because of the bad business. Subsequently, Sonia also experiences the dark side of her job: brutal suitors and remorse because of her double life.

After Ladja and Sonia meet a suitor on the street, Ladja suspects something of Sonia's secret and locks the door to their shared apartment after a party in Milan's bar. Sonia spends a romantic night with Milan, whom she has met several times, which he still pays for her with a lot of money, because he loves her and wants to enable her to live without prostitution. Sonia's fellow student and actually best friend Jule is jealous and reveals Sonia's secret at the university. Your former employer takes over the "Oase" and opens it under a new name and as a Laufhaus. The conditions deteriorate rapidly, so that Sonia, as Mascha, is forced to accept all customers.

When Ladja appears at her place of work, he sees that Sonia is working as a prostitute. He then leaves her and Sonia realizes that she has exceeded her limits in her life. Milan's wife, with whom he already has a daughter, is pregnant again. Sonia also does a pregnancy test , which comes out positive. Who the father is remains open.

criticism

"Portrait of a woman who tries to portray prostitution beyond the usual perpetrator-victim schemes and at the same time creates a mood picture of 'Anything goes' in the German metropolis, although the staging does not do without clichés."
