Cuco Wallraff
Cuco Wallraff (* 1963 in Solingen ) is a German actor .
Life
Cuco Wallraff is the son of a German and a Colombian. His father emigrated to Colombia at the age of 22 and returned to Germany with three children. Cuco Wallraff's brother is the actor Diego Wallraff . His mother named him after the Mexican mariachi singer Cuco Sanchez . He grew up bilingual with Spanish and German. After graduating from high school in Hamburg in 1983, he received an engagement from Peter Zadek for the Freie Volksbühne Berlin just one year later, without having completed any acting training . Until 1991 he was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Freie Volksbühne as well as at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg .
In parallel to his theater engagements, Wallraff completed several acting, dance and singing courses in New York City and Los Angeles . From 2006 to 2009 he studied theater studies as well as journalism and communication studies at the Free University of Berlin . At the same time, he enrolled in the Executive Master's degree in Arts Administration at the University of Zurich , which he finally successfully completed with his thesis “Alternative financing concepts for non-profit theaters in Germany” .
