The Death of My Sister ( working title : Time of the Snake) is a crime film or a thriller by director Miguel Alexandre from 2007. In the lead role , Désirée Nosbusch plays the architect Caroline Becker, whose younger sister Nina died in Africa under unexplained circumstances .
action
The news that her younger sister Nina is dead terrifies the architect Caroline Becker. At that time Caroline left her sister in the hands of their brutal father.
The news leads Caroline to travel to Cape Town and pay a visit to Nina's husband Sven. Surprisingly, he already started a new relationship with the stripper Chantal.
Caroline learns that Sven has an enemy: the colored manager Ngomo, who blames Sven for the death of his nephew. In Caroline the assumption grows that Ngomo could be responsible for Nina's death in order to get revenge on Sven. However, the local police cannot confirm that Nina did not die of natural causes. Rather, the result of the official investigations is that Nina was traveling with her car and thus got off the road in the dark and as a result fell from a rock.
Caroline doesn't believe this police version of her sister's death. She begins to investigate on her own and her own life is in extreme danger.

Wolfgang Esser and Peter Lohner produced for Telefilm Saar GmbH (Saarbrücken) on behalf of ZDF. The film was shot in Cape Town , among other places .

The death of my sister was shown for the first time on November 2, 2007 at the Nordic Film Days in Lübeck . The first broadcast on ZDF took place on May 26, 2008 .

Rainer Tittelbach is of the opinion that " The death of my sister [...] as a simple fair-weather thriller [begins], but gradually turns into an exciting women's drama that is carried out by two convincing actresses".
TV feature film sums up: "Désirée Nosbusch convinces in this crime thriller in a mature female role". The summary of the program magazine is: "Thriller and sensitive women's drama".
