Peer Jäger (born July 2, 1943 ) is a German actor .

Life

Peer Jäger completed his acting training at the State Drama School in Berlin , today's Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in East Berlin .

At the beginning of his career as an actor there were theater engagements . From 1968 to 1977 Jäger was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Friedrich Wolf Theater in Neustrelitz . From 1977 to 1984 he was engaged at the Schwerin State Theater . From 1984 to 1989 he switched to the political cabaret Die Pfeffermühle in Leipzig . Even before the fall of the Wall , Jäger decided not to return to the GDR during a guest performance by Pfeffermühle in the West in 1989 . In the west he immediately received an engagement at the Stadttheater Heidelberg from 1989 , where he was a permanent member of the ensemble until 1996.

Jäger played a wide repertoire on stage, ranging from works of the classical to the modern . Jäger also took on roles in operettas , musical comedies and musicals . In recent years he has also turned to the tabloid theater . In 2001 he played at the Komödie am Kurfürstendamm in Berlin in the play Liebe, Cunning and Passion by Carlo Goldoni . In 2004 he played in the play Charley's Aunt , also in the comedy on Kurfürstendamm. Comedian Harmonists 2 followed in 2005 . In 2006 he also played in Comedian Harmonists 2 at the comedy Winterhuder Fährhaus in Hamburg .

After reunification, Jäger quickly made the switch to film and television. From the beginning of the 1990s, his lasting career began on German television. Jäger took on several continuous series roles, recurring episode roles and guest roles.

Jäger was often used on German television in crime series , but also in demanding television games and productions with a contemporary background. He has made a name for himself as a sensitive and differentiated character actor.

Became famous for hunters mainly by a plurality of continuous series roles: the role of former BKA chief Manfred Seifert in Delta team , as a music agent Bradford in the ARD - TV Series father against his will and as a landowner Alexander Hofstadter in the ZDF television series Girlfriends where he played together with Mariele Millowitsch and Walter Sittler . In Marlene of Joseph Vilsmeier he played in 2000 a US general in uniform. In 2003, he was part of the cast of the film The Miracle of Bern by Sönke Wortmann .

Jäger also works as a speaker for radio plays and appears with readings and as a reciter .

Peer Jäger has been married to actress Manon Straché since 1993 .
