Berlin in 1906: The Gravenhorst chocolate dynasty is a traditional family business with a first-class reputation. The affluent family of five lives with their servants under one roof in an imposing villa at the fine address “ Unter den Linden ”. But an invisible border runs between the basement and the stately rooms above.
The model for the series was the British hit series Das Haus am Eaton Place .

Phoenix Film produced the first season of the series in two studios of the Berliner Union-Film in Berlin-Tempelhof , with external shoots taking place in nearby Potsdam . The second season with a further 13 episodes was supposed to start in the fall, but that didn't happen. In the absence of audience interest, the series was postponed to an earlier slot in the afternoon after episode 5 was broadcast and was finally discontinued.
