Christian Pfannenschmidt
Christian Pfannenschmidt (* 1953 in Hamburg ) is a German screenwriter and writer .
Training and journalistic activity
Pfannenschmidt completed a commercial apprenticeship in Hamburg before attending the Henri Nannen School for journalists. He then wrote for publications such as the Stern , Brigitte , Essen & Trinken , Der Feinschmecker , Vogue , Harper's Bazaar , Geo Saison and others. a. and was deputy editor-in-chief of the women's magazine Viva . He worked as a reporter for Zeitmagazin for over ten years.
Screenwriter
Pfannenschmidt then worked as a screenwriter. He was still a classic team writer on the RTL series Sonntag und Partner . Then he turned away from the work method of modern series authors, which was based on the division of labor, and wrote all the episodes for the television series girl friends - friendship with heart alone. He was commissioned to write a series about women's friendships in the early 1990s from producer Katharina Trebitsch . The series about a friendship between two dissimilar women was broadcast from 1995 and achieved a consistently high market share of up to 21 percent for over ten years .
Pfannenschmidt later made a point of being involved in other areas of film and series production . In 2003 he founded with producer January Kromschröder , the Kromschröder and pan Schmidt GmbH . Working as a co-producer enabled him, as a scriptwriter, to influence locations, casts, etc.
In the drama Welcome Home Pfannenschmidt told the story of a traumatized Bundeswehr soldier after his deployment in Afghanistan . In Mandy wants to go to the sea , he discussed child poverty in Germany. Pfannenschmidt wrote the screenplay for the movie Marlene (2000, director: Joseph Vilsmaier ). It was based on the biography of Maria Riva , the daughter of Marlene Dietrich , but was fictional . Mixing the two was controversial. For ZDF he developed the television series Heartbreaker - Father of Four Sons , for which he also wrote several scripts. Most recently Pfannenschmidt wrote the screenplay for the ARD film My mother is impossible with Diana Amft and Stephan Luca in the leading roles.
Novelist
Pfannenschmidt published several novels. Five stars for Marie became a bestseller , as did the six novels for the television series girl friends . His novel The Water Lily Pond was translated into several languages and filmed for ARD ; also The Albertis for ZDF.
