action

Landgasthof owner Antonia 'Toni' Janssen and star chef Rufus von Berg are about to get married. While the two want to say yes without much hype, Toni's mother is of the opinion that the marriage of her only daughter should be celebrated in a big way. She reckons with at least 200 people and has already sent out invitations, which leads to annoyance between mother and daughter. But groom Rufus also has his worries, because Toni's useless “ex” Hajü absolutely wants to organize the bachelorette party for him and also be the best man for both of them.

Shortly before the marriage, Rufu's parents want to take a look at their future daughter-in-law. The visit of the two turns into a disaster, because Rufu's mother leaves no doubt that as a wife for her son she had imagined something different from a landlady. Luise van Berg can therefore not be made right and she nags about everything, including her husband. With him she has been in a kind of permanent crisis for a long time, because he cannot stop his constant flirting with other women. In her plan to prevent the wedding, Luise Hajü tries to get involved, but he firmly refuses. When Rufus notices the tension between his parents, he tries to talk to his father and persuades him to cook a menu for Luise with him, which is supposed to make her conciliatory. But Rufus mother remains stubborn and does not want to come to the wedding. The mood in the country inn is accordingly depressed, after all Toni, her mother and Rufus have tried everything. Despite everything, the wedding is due four weeks later. Contrary to expectations, Rufu's parents appear after all. His mother appears to have been exchanged and even asks Toni to apologize, which Toni seems skeptical.

After the bachelor party is over, things get serious the next day. Everyone is in a happy mood, only Hajü is acting strange. He had secretly tried on the wedding ring that Rufus had entrusted to him as best man. But he can no longer get it off his finger, which he finally has to confess to the groom. But that alone cannot prevent the wedding, Rufus mother takes care of that personally, who instigates a wild brawl in the church in which all wedding guests are included in the end. Toni's mother then pushes Luise together and takes her to the bus stop so that she can go home immediately. Toni and Rufus meanwhile, just for themselves, say yes in front of the church.

Reviews

Tilmann P. Gangloff from Tittelbach.tv said: "It's hard to believe, but the modest title is the best thing about this third film with Diana Amft and Stephan Luca as an unequal couple that [sic!] Has developed a passionate passion for each other." “'My mother dares something' [...] is based on the comedy pattern 'Help, the in-laws are coming': Star chef Rufus wants to marry Antonia, but his mother turns out to be a frightening screw who wants to prevent the wedding at all costs. "

The critics of the Siegener Zeitung rated it positively and wrote: “Anyone who has such mothers - one mother hen, the other an esoteric lethal injection - and then a father who looks at every skirt and gets the glitter in the eyes of every female doesn't have to worry about his planned wedding and can only groan: 'Two mothers are just two too many!' The third film 'My mother dares something' [...] from the Eifel series does not impress with its subtle humor, but rather belongs to the category 'Tap hard on the thighs while smiling'. "

The critics of TV Spielfilm rated it positively and wrote: "We have to be crazy: The trio is a hit!"
