Nikolaus Benda
Nikolaus Benda (born June 1, 1978 in Hamburg ) is a German actor and radio play speaker .
Life
Nikolaus Benda is the son of an actor couple and grew up in Frankfurt am Main. As a teenager he took on his first roles in radio play productions for the Hessischer Rundfunk . Benda received his acting training from 1998 to 2002 at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich . Between 2002 and 2007 he had piece contracts at the Oberhausen Theater and the Schauspielhaus Wien , but mostly he gave guest appearances at Munich theaters, namely the Kammerspiele , the Residenztheater , the Schauburg and the Metropoltheater . In 2007, Benda began his first permanent engagement at the Theater St. Gallen , moved to the Theater am Neumarkt in Zurich in 2010 and has been with the Cologne Theater ensemble since the 2013/14 season .
Well-known roles of Bendas were Karl Moor in The Robbers by Friedrich Schiller , the Templar in Gotthold Ephraim Lessing's Nathan the Wise , Eisenring in Biedermann and the arsonists of Max Frisch and Christian in Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand, along with many others . He also played title roles in Parzival by Tankred Dorst , in Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet by William Shakespeare and Heinrich von Kleist's drama Prinz Friedrich von Homburg .
Nikolaus Benda has also been a very busy film and television actor since the mid-1990s. He made his comrade debut in an episode of the crime series SK Babies , since then he has appeared as guest in many other series, such as Inspector Rex , In the Name of the Law , In All Friendship , SOKO Cologne or Der Alte . In 2007 Benda starred in the award-winning television film For the Unknown Dog by the twin brothers Benjamin and Dominik Reding , Lars Kraume cast him in his 2015 feature film Der Staat gegen Fritz Bauer .
Nikolaus Benda lives in Cologne and, in addition to his work at the theater and in front of the camera, continues to work as a radio play speaker.
