John Delbridge

John Delbridge (* 1955 on the Channel Island of Guernsey ) is a British director , writer and producer . Delbridge made a name for himself primarily with film adaptations of the novels by authors Katie Fforde and Inga Lindström , each of which he directed several times.

Life

Delbridge went to school in England and took up his engineering degree there . After completing his studies, he worked, among other things, as an advertising photographer and musician . He attended directing seminars, worked as an assistant director and then worked as a director himself. He started his television career with knowledge and youth programs such as Mosquito , Pickwick Club and Head Jumps . He also directed cooking programs such as Besser essen in Deutschland and Guten Appetit . He remained loyal to younger audiences until the 1990s, with episodes of Hallo Spencer , Sesame Street and Children in Traffic . For these last-mentioned programs Delbridge worked partly as a screenwriter . In Canada, Delbridge directed and produced the family series Family Passion (German power of passion ).

In Germany, the Hamburg-based director has directed various television series such as St. Angela , Verbotene Liebe , In the Name of the Law , Alpha Team - The Lifesavers in the Operating Room and Unter den Linden - Das Haus Gravenhorst . For ZDF he directed various episodes of the successful series girl friends - friendship with heart as well as the series Die Albertis and Da geht Kalle . Another Delbridge work was directing the loose series Love, Babies, and a Big Heart . His repertoire also includes film adaptations of novels by the popular authors Rosamunde Pilcher , Inga Lindström , Katie Fforde , Utta Danella and Emilie Richards .

John Delbridge is a member of the Directors Guild of Great Britain and the Federation of German Directors (BVR).
