Neumis Rock Circus was a German music group. The band's performances were a mixture of circus , rock music , clowning and cabaret . The band was founded in 1979 in the GDR and disbanded in 1983.
Band history
Neumis Rock Circus was founded in 1979 by Hans-Joachim "Neumi" Neumann (* 1952, vocals ), who had previously sung with Karat and College Formation . He was also a band leader. Other founding members were:
- Rainer Oleak (* 1953, keyboard ), previously with Neue Generation ; founded Datzu in 1984
- Hans Joachim Schweda (* 1952, electric bass ), previously with Neue Generation;
- Stefan Schirrmacher (* 1955, guitar ), previously with Pilot and New Generation; from 1984 with Datzu;
- Daniel Mischna (* 1955, drums ), previously New Generation .
Mishnah was soon replaced by Ingo Politz (* 1959, drums) from the Keks group ; Politz was later also a member of Datzu.
In 1983 the band won the Grand Prix at the Dresden International Schlager Festival with Oh Darling . In the same year Neumann left the GDR, which also meant the end of the band.
