Keks was a German rock group . It was founded in Berlin in 1978 and banned in 1985 because of several exit applications and disagreements with the GDR Ministry of Culture .

Band history

The band was founded in May 1978 in Berlin. It emerged from the amateur band of the same name. Founding members were:

The band leader was the one acting in the background

  • Detlev Moh, a qualified journalist and singer. During this time, the successful discount number Count Down and the title She was just 16 years were created . At the end of 1979 Wagner and Matthies left the group. The vocal part took over
  • Ralf Bummi Bursy (vocals, acoustic guitar ), who had previously played with Regenbogen and a short time later the Rainbow guitarist
  • Detlef got Brauer for biscuits. Bursy and Brauer were responsible for the band's new musical style. Her compositions Warten in der Dunkelheit and Astrein bear witness to this . In the fall of 1981, Bursy left the band and went to principle . In 1982 Politz moved to Neumis Rock Circus and Brauer to Berluc . For this came:
  • Sebastian Baur (* 1957, vocals, guitar), who used to work with Monokel and later went to MCB and then to Knorkator ;
  • Hans-Peter Krause (* 1955, drums), came from Mondie , previously he was with the Hansi Biebl Band and later went to NO 55 , but was soon through
  • Jörk Skaba (drums), formerly juggler rock band , replaced.

From then on, Keks played with two guitarists and more songs composed by Detlef Brauer were produced on the GDR radio. The texts came from Ingeburg Branoner and Harry Balkow-Gölitzer . Sebastian Baur tried his hand at writing for the first time with We want to rock . In the artist competition there was considerable criticism of the musical direction. This was followed by several requests to leave the band, which led to the band being banned from performing in 1985 .
