Ingeburg Branoner

Ingeburg Branoner (born February 14, 1934 in Berlin ) is a German songwriter . In the GDR she was one of the most productive lyricists in rock music and hit music .

Life

Branoner is a trained specialist in traffic engineering . From 1962 to 1977 she worked for radio in the GDR as a clerk, editor and producer . From 1962 she wrote lyrics for Schlager. In 1963 Steffen Reuter sang the witch's broom twist with the first Branoner text published on record. From 1971 she turned to rock music, which was emerging at the time. Thanks to her successful work, she was able to work freelance from 1977. She wrote for the Modern Soul Band , Lift , electra , Reform , Veronika Fischer , Holger Biege , Katrin Lindner & Schubert-Band , Dina Straat , Neue Generation , Metropol , Passion , Peter and Paul and Gaby Rückert as well as German texts for the Polish performers Rote Guitars , Skaldowie and Maryla Rodowicz and the Hungarian bands Illés and Fonograf .

  • 1974: River of Dead Fish , sung by the Modern Soul Band, was not allowed to be played on the radio because it dealt with the topic of "pollution"
  • 1975: That night , sung by Veronika Fischer, 1st place in the GDR annual hit parade in 1975
  • 1980: Touch , sung by Gaby Rückert, was voted GDR “Hit of the Year” in 1980 by the readers of Neues Leben magazine
