Ralf "Bummi" Bursy (born January 18, 1956 in Berlin ) is a German-speaking pop and rock singer and music producer who was particularly successful and popular in the GDR until 1989 .
Life
Bursy initially completed an apprenticeship as a machine and system fitter and later a distance learning course at the Hanns Eisler University of Music . From 1977 to 1979 he sang in the hard rock band Regenbogen . This was a result of a school band founded together with friends, whose program mainly consisted of re-enacted songs by Uriah Heep and Deep Purple . He became known to a larger audience through the song You make me in love when the band performed at the National Youth Festival of the GDR in 1978. From 1979 to 1981 he was the singer of the band Keks , before he switched to the band Prinzip in 1982 .
After separating from the band in July 1986, he began a solo career under the stage name Ralf Bummi Bursy. He was musically accompanied by Conny Bauer (trombone), Ferry Grott (trumpet), Rene Decker (saxophone), Reinhard Petereit (guitar), Judit Tudor (background) and the pop jazz band Flair . By 1989, the GDR record manufacturer Amiga had released two albums , and another was released in 1992 by the Amiga successor company DSB. The LP Wind in the face sold over 100,000 times in the GDR. Six years later, BMG published a newly compiled selection of his most famous titles.
After 1992 he worked as a producer, among others for Nena , Veronika Fischer and PM Sampson , and as a service provider for Jay Kay Music Entertainment .
Ralf Bursy is the owner of several clothing stores in Berlin and has now completely withdrawn from the music business.
