Jennifer Brown
Jennifer Braun (born April 28, 1991 in Rüdesheim am Rhein ) is a German pop and rock singer and presenter who became known as a finalist in the German preliminary round of the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest .
biography
The daughter of a saleswoman and an industrial exploiter lives in Eltville on the Rhine and attended the private Obermayr School in Wiesbaden-Erbenheim , where she graduated from university in 2012 . Until the beginning of 2010 she had her biggest appearances with her band Rewind at city festivals and the wine festival in Wiesbaden.
As a solo singer, she had previously participated in the seventh season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar , but had to leave the qualification in the first recall round.
Our star for Oslo
In 2010 she applied for the German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 under the direction of Stefan Raab under the title Unser Star für Oslo as an eight-part casting show organized by ARD and ProSieben and made it into the twenty candidates for the early February 2010 Television shows. She survived five elimination rounds and came under the last four participants in the semi-finals. There Braun, who was praised by the jurors for her powerful voice and confident appearance, surprisingly prevailed against Christian Durstewitz, who was favored for the final , with the interpretation of the rock hit Heavy Cross by Gossip and the ballad Hurt by Christina Aguilera and achieved together with Lena Meyer-Landrut the final. There she failed because of her fellow finalist, who had been the favorite in both the radio stations' online surveys and the media since the first broadcast.

I Care for You was written especially for Braun's final appearance by Martin Fliegenschmidt , Claudio Pagonis and Max Mutzke . The titles Bee and Satellite, on the other hand, were selected in advance from 300 compositions for the final show and interpreted there by Braun's competitor Lena Meyer-Landrut .
Post competition career
I Care for You reached number ten in the German charts in the week after the finale of Our Star for Oslo . In Austria the song also reached a chart position. The interpretations of the other final songs Bee and Satellite made it into the top 40 in Germany. On May 24, 2010, she and her group Rewind made an appearance in the Whitsun edition of the ZDF television garden . In November 2010 she sang the title song QuerWELTein for the ARD radio night .
As part of the Hessen sustainability strategy , Braun published the song Jetzt und Forever as a free download in June 2011 .
In July 2011 Braun performed on all 14 stages of the SachsenSommerRadTour starting on July 3rd. For the first time Braun's second single Over Being Over , which had already been presented during a gig in Wiesbaden, was available for purchase. The 2-track single also contains the song Not Quite There Yet , the English-language version of Now and Forever . The single did not appear in stores.
Since Jennifer Braun left school in 2012 with a university entrance qualification, she has been employed part-time as a commercial clerk. In 2012 she gave over 40 concerts and joined the music collective Die Dicken Kinder .
In December 2012, Braun took part in the A New Day charity project . The song of the same name, which she recorded with other former participants in various casting shows such as Daniel Schuhmacher , Lisa Bund and Leo Rojas , was released as a download and maxi CD. The proceeds go to the Aktion Deutschland Hilft disaster fund .
Shortly after taking part in Our Star for Oslo , she began recording an album with producer Peter Ries. In 2013, Braun resumed work on it under new conditions.
Jennifer Braun has been a moderator since 2015. It leads through the My Race Hub series and accompanies the Mercedes-Benz racing team to the stations of the German Touring Car Masters .
