X-Perience is a music project initiated by Matthias Uhle (born March 17, 1973 in Berlin ), Claudia Uhle (born March 15, 1976 in Berlin) and Alexander Kaiser (born April 7, 1973 in Eisenach ).

history

The first joint band of the two Berlin musicians Matthias Uhle and Alexander Kaiser, Metropolis , was quite unsuccessful. Later, the two musicians had a vision of what their future musical costume should look like: pop music combined with a pinch of ethno . These ideas should only be realized in the band's third album.

First, Matthias Uhle's younger sister, Claudia Uhle, joined X-Perience. Uhle had a classical vocal training and earned her first merits at the State Opera and recording church songs. She should do the vocal part. Matthias Uhle composed and Alexander Kaiser was primarily responsible for the lyrics. So they developed their own style: pop music with strong trance influences, plus the classic, concise voice of Claudia Uhle.

In 1995 the first song of the trio was ready and waiting for publication. However, initially nobody took any notice of the band. They were repeatedly presented to various radio stations. Their perseverance was rewarded and, eventually, Circles of Love took off on the airwaves. The song was reworked by Axel Henninger, who had worked on Camouflage in the 1980s .

After the success of the song on Radio Fritz , the WEA label became aware of X-Perience and secured the record rights. Circles of Love was published nationwide, but only made it to a short trip to the lower regions of the sales charts. After the release of the second single A Neverending Dream in the summer of 1996 , which reached number 4 in the German charts, media interest in the band increased rapidly. The first album, Magic Fields , stayed in the charts for three months and sold over 150,000 copies. The album was also a respectable success in other European countries. In Finland the album sold 41,501 units, which means platinum . The second album Take Me Home repeated the success of its predecessor. X-Perience had been able to secure a niche in the music market with their very own mix of styles.

In 2000 the single Island of Dreams was released, the first harbinger of the third album Journey of Life . The piece became the title song of the RTL II series Expedition Robinson . With the third album, Journey of Life , X-Perience had then put their original plan to incorporate more ethnic influences into the songs into action. So the new songs had African and Irish influences. However, the album could not quite build on the successes of the previous ones.

In early 2003, X-Perience released the single It's a Sin (cover of the Pet Shop Boys play of the same name ) for promotional purposes . In that year the contract with the Polydor also expired, and in 2006 X-Perience found a new record company with Major Records.

Claudia Uhle has also been working on the solo project Angelzoom since 2004 . She has released three singles and two albums under this name and has worked with various artists (including Nik Page , Joachim Witt ).

In autumn 2006, X-Perience returned with a new album. I.a. they could win Midge Ure ( Ultravox , Visage ) for a duet on Lost in Paradise . There are also three bonus tracks on the album - new versions of the first three singles remixed by Jose Alvarez-Brill . With the release of the third single from the album in 2007, Claudia Uhle and X-Perience parted ways. In the future she wanted to take care of her solo project Angelzoom .

In 2009 Manja Kaletka (née Gückel), currently also a singer in the Mainz space-pop band XO-Planet and former singer in the band Jesus on Extasy , was introduced as the new singer of X-Perience and a new title Strong (Since You're Gone) . More new songs were presented on the band's Facebook page, but an album was never released.

At the end of 2019 Claudia Uhle returned as the singer of the project. After the teaser single Dream a Dream in April 2020, the first official single for 13 years followed on May 15, 2020, I Feel Like You 555 . The fifth album was produced by Valicon and will be released in August 2020.
