Itchycoo is a Swedish pop-rock - band , consisting of singer Mia Bergström and guitarist Tobias Gustavsson is. Other musicians are also present when performing live. The typography of the band name has been iTCHYCOO since the change to the Valicon label .

Band history

Bergström and Gustavsson had on the musical -Akademie (Academy of Music and Drama) in Gothenburg met, but lost after graduating from the eyes. After a while, they met again at gigs with their respective bands in a Gothenburg bar called Itchycoo . Since both were dissatisfied with their bands, but noticed each other's progress since attending the academy and noticed many similarities, they decided to make music together.

For their first album they worked on their own songs, supported by the Swedish songwriting team Epicentre and by producers Guy Roche , Peter Kvint and Douglas Carr . The songs were recorded in Stockholm and Los Angeles . In September 2003, their first album entitled Itchycoo was released on the Virgin Music label , EMI . Before that, the singles Lovetrain and Killer Bee were released in May and August 2003 .

The second album will be out in 2007, recorded in Stockholm and Philadelphia with Eric Bazilian , who is a singer, songwriter and musician with the rock band The Hooters . It was produced by Valicon Music in Berlin .

They became known to a larger audience in Germany through the 2003 SWR3 New Pop Festival , where they were celebrated as newcomers and received the audience award for the most popular band, A-ward. The last time Itchycoo was in Germany was in May 2006 at two live appearances, as a special guest at Rivo Drei .
