Joris (musician)
Joris Ramon Buchholz (born December 1, 1989 in Stuhr-Brinkum ), known by the artist name Joris ( spelling : JORIS ), is a German songwriter .
life and career
Joris Buchholz was born in 1989 in Stuhr - Brinkum near Bremen and grew up in Vlotho in North Rhine-Westphalia in East Westphalia . He started making music at the age of five and wrote his first songs a few years later. He gained his first experience as a drummer in a music school band and founded his first band called The Seastream as a guitarist, pianist and singer . He received piano lessons from his uncle. Joris completed his A-levels at the Weser-Gymnasium Vlotho and then studied sound and music production for two semesters at the University of Popular Arts in Berlin . He then moved to the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg in Mannheim . There he met the other members of his current band. In 2014, Joris finally got a record deal with the music label Four Music .
In early 2012 appeared with Sparks EP an extended play of indie pop - band Oakfield, Joris as a lyricist , singer , pianist and guitarist belonged. In 2014 Joris went on tour through Germany for the first time . At the end of the same year, Joris' first song was released on Four Music under the title Im Schneckenhaus . Observers described it as a "wonderful depressive hymn" with a lot of love and feeling. In March 2015, the musician's first single followed with heart over his head . The debut album Hopelessly Hopelessly reached third place in the German charts in April 2015 . It also reached second place on the iTunes charts. It was produced in collaboration with Ingo Politz and Mic Schröder. The majority of the media rated the record positively. On July 11th, 2015 he performed at Inas Nacht and sang the song Im Schneckenhaus . In October 2015 Joris was nominated in the two categories Best Artist and Best Single with his single Herz über Kopf for the music prize 1 Live Krone , which took place on December 3, 2015 in Bochum's Jahrhunderthalle .
On April 7, 2016, he won three echoes , including in the radio echo category. His second studio album Schrei es raus was released on October 5, 2018 . He lives in Mannheim.
