Wiebke Schröder

Wiebke Eline Josefine Schröder , b. Brodersen, (born May 15, 1934 in Bentheim ; † January 4, 2018 in Kronach ) was a German bryologist .

Together with her long-term partner, the astrophysicist , astronomer and botanist Ludwig Opinion (1936–2018), she researched the distribution of mosses throughout Germany over a period of 12 years, seven full months a year, and laid the basis for publication of the three-volume work Distribution Atlas of Mosses Germany , which appeared in 2007.

In 2010 she was honored with the Academy Prize of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences together with Ludwig Sichter .
