Karlheinz Tietze

Karlheinz Tietze (born June 27, 1912 in Oberneukirch , Oberlausitz , † November 18, 1996 in Essen ) was a German internist and sports medicine specialist .

Life

Tietze studied medicine at the University of Leipzig and was active in the Corps Lusatia Leipzig . He led all three batches , fought 15 lengths and proved to be a successful second . On June 24, 1935, he seconded the Leipzig professor Max Hochrein to a saber graduation with a political background against a higher SA leader . It was 1937, the state exam and received his doctorate in the same year Dr. med. 1938 as doctor approved , he turned in the University Hospital of Internal Medicine to. In 1949 he took over the management of the medical polyclinic . Habilitated since 1953 , he was appointed professor in 1958 . In March 1959 he became chief physician in the internal department of the St. Georg District Hospital . In September of the same year he moved to Essen . The Huyssens Foundation elected him on January 1, 1960 as chief physician in the internal department. The focus of his clinical and scientific work was the blood circulation , particularly the Adams-Stokes syndrome , Cheyne-Stokes respiration and myocardial infarction . After 27 years of service, Tietze retired in 1987. In the German Democratic Republic he had dealt intensively with the encephalopathy of boxers .

He was married to colleague Ursula born in 1950. Wolf. The son was born in 1951, the daughter in 1953.
