Dying Alive is the fourth DVD by the German thrash metal band Kreator . It was released on August 30, 2013 via Nuclear Blast Records .

Emergence

The DVD was recorded at the Kreator concert on December 22nd, 2012 in the Turbinenhalle in Oberhausen . It was the last concert of a 45-day European tour that Kreator completed with the opening acts Morbid Angel , Nile and Fueled by Fire . An appearance in Berlin was already recorded during the tour . After the concert the musicians had the idea to publish a DVD. A film team was put together to accompany the musicians on tour for a few days in order to rehearse the concert schedule. The appearance in Oberhausen was recorded by a total of 24 cameras. The cameras not only captured what was happening on stage , but were also positioned on guitar straps or in the mosh pit in the audience. Kreator-Singer adopted this concept from producer Moses Schneider , who produced the Kreator album Hordes of Chaos . In an interview, Petrozza explained that Schneider prefers to set up one more microphone in the studio to capture everything.

Matthias Kollek, who previously shot some music videos with the band, directed it. Dying Alive was mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren. Most of the material was not edited in the studio. The exception was a verse in the song Phantom Antichrist , where singer Mille Petrozza was singing. With this mistake, the DVD could not have been released, according to Petrozza.

Petrozza also acted as executive producer. In the run-up to the DVD production, the band called on their fans to send in their best photos of and with the band. Some of these photos were printed in the booklet of the DVD.
