Tommy Vetterli

Tommy Vetterli (* 8. July 1967 in Zurich as Thomas Vetterli ) is a Swiss guitarist and music producer . Vetterli played for Coroner , Stephan Eicher and Kreator , among others .

Career

Vetterli learned the violin at the age of eight . He switched to guitar when he was twelve after seeing Jimi Hendrix on television . He broke off an apprenticeship as a car mechanic in order to pursue a career as a musician. In 1984 he founded the band Coroner with Marky Edelmann and Ron Broder, before that he worked as a roadie for Celtic Frost . In the meantime, Vetterli began studying at the jazz school in Lucerne , which he broke off.

Vetterli released five studio albums with Coroner before the band split up in 1996. After Coroner's dissolution, Vetterli was active in the band Clockwork , which only released a demo . He was also active as a live guitarist for Phillip Boa and Stephan Eicher before joining the German thrash metal band Kreator. After the albums Outcast and Endorama , Vetterli left the band voluntarily to pursue a career as a music producer. To this day he has produced for several Swiss bands, including Eluveitie and Battalion .

In 2002 Vetterli took over the New Sound Studio in Pfäffikon SZ . He is married to the singer of the band 69 Chambers Nina Treml.
