The Big Teutonic 4 - Part II -

The Big Teutonic 4 - Part II is a split - EP of German thrash metal -Bands Kreator , Sodom , Destruction and Tankard .

Origin and background

After the success of the first split EP The Big Teutonic 4 in 2012, the bands decided to release another EP with cover versions . The EP contains rare covers by bands of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal . All four titles published on the EP were published years earlier.

Kreator covered the song Lambs to the Slaughter by the band Raven , which was released in 1988 on the EP Out of the Dark… Into the Light . Sodom contributed the song Don't Walk Away by Tank , which first appeared on the single Ausgebombt in 1989 . Destruction coverten Princess of the Night of Saxon , which on the Japanese version of her album Spiritual Genocide was first released. Finally played Tankard their version of the song Iron Maiden by Iron Maiden one, first released on the compilation A Tribute to the Beast - Vol. 2 , 2003.

The split was first published on February 25, 2015 on CD as a supplement to the German music magazine Rock Hard . On March 13, 2015 published Nuclear Blast then the split as 10 " - record on black, red, yellow and transparent vinyl . Each version is limited to 250 pieces each.

The cover of the EP shows the Big Teutonic 4 logo in the middle. Outside there are front pages of daily newspapers with little jokes. One of the headlines reads that Sodom is changing its name to Gomorrah . Destruction's mascot Mad Butcher would have been spotted in the Maldives . After all, Tankard's own beer brand would sponsor the 2018 World Cup .
