Fueled by Fire is an American thrash metal band from Norwalk , California that was formed in 2002.
history
The band was founded in 2002 by Carlos Gutierrez (drums), Rick Rangel (vocals), Adrian Gallego (electric bass) and Sal Zepede (electric guitar). Gallego left the band a short time later, Rangel took over the position of bassist and Ray Fiero joined the band as the new singer. A little later bassist Anthony Vasquez joined the band and Rick Rangel took over the position of guitarist. This line-up remained constant until singer Ray Fiero left the band in January 2004. Just one day later, a new singer was found in Jovanny "Gio" Herrera. He also became the band's third guitarist. Their first demo called Life… Death… and FBF was released in April 2004. This enabled the band to appear at Whiskey a Go Go in Los Angeles . As a result, the bands played gigs in and around Los Angeles with bands such as Exodus , Possessed , Exumer , Heathen , Hallows Eve , Hirax and Agent Steel .
In May 2006, the band recorded their first self-funded album called Spread the Fire and released it in September of that year. The album caught the attention of Brian Slagel , founder of Metal Blade Records . The band signed a contract with the label in March 2007. The album Spread the Fire was re-released in August 2007. The re-release was remixed and mastered by Joey Vera ( Armored bassist ) and included two bonus songs. A month after the release, the band was looking for a new singer and guitarist. Rick Rangel became the band's lead singer and Chris Monroy became the new guitarist.
In December 2007 followed a tour along the east coast of the USA together with Scarecrow. The band also played a few gigs in Mexico . In 2008, she performed at the Keep It True Festival in Germany . In April 2008 the band went on tour through Europe , followed by a US tour with MOD in July 2008
Another European tour followed in 2010 with Violator to promote their new album Plunging into Darkness .
style
Fueled by Fire plays classic 1980s style Thrash Metal. They are compared to other bands in the genre such as Exodus , Testament and Slayer .
