Hey is the second studio album by the German pop singer Andreas Bourani .

Creation and artwork

All pieces on the album were written together by Andreas Bourani and Julius Hartog, in cooperation with other often changing authors. The author Jasmin Shakeri and Tom Olbrich worked on four and three pieces respectively and thus most of the songs on the album, and authors also worked on individual pieces. Peter Seifert worked as a producer on nine - and thus most - of the titles, three productions by Philipp Steinke . The piece Refugium was produced by Andreas Bourani and Julius Hartog, on all other songs both worked as co-producers. Andreas Herbig, Alexander Freund and Tom Olbrich also appear as co-producers. The album was mastered in the Kirchundemer Blacksheep studio, under the direction of Peter Seifert and the Skyline Tonfabrik, under the direction of Kai Blankenberg. The album was also mixed by Seifert in the Blacksheep Studios. The pieces were programmed by Alexander Freund, Andreas Herbig and Peter Seifert. The recordings were made by Andreas Bourani, Julius Hartog, Tom Olbrich, Peter Seifert and Philipp Steinke. The album was released under the music labels Universal Music Group and Vertigo Berlin and distributed by BMG Rights Management , EMI Music Publishing , Edition Most Wanted and Edition Viertelkind . On the light blue cover of the album - in addition to the artist name and album title - Bourani can be seen jumping in the air. The cover picture was shot by Dirk Rudolph and Harald Hoffmann and designed by Büro Dirk Rudolph.

Reviews

“Throughout the entire album, the question arises, what exactly this gentleman does differently from other German popper. In the end, the answer is very clear: nothing. You might as well let Xavier Naidoo sing and it would be a Naidoo or Sons album. [...] Even the texts do not break out of the standard repertoire of radio philosophers. Do not give up ( Hey ), hymns of restlessness ( everything as it is ) and the inevitable minnesang ( delirium, made for each other ); Light and time metaphors included. You've heard all of this too often to have to chew through it again. A few beats here, a bit of guitar there and a gentle woman's voice on top - the fabric softener pop robe is ready.

“We keep going in circles”, Bourani sums up his album himself in On other ways . If you know a song, you know them all. Every track has the hooks that make it a long-term hit in the hit lists and can drive people to white heat while strolling through the department store with what feels like ten runs per hour. And every track sinks into kitsch and insignificance. Andreas Bourani is and will remain just one of many who does nothing on Hey to change this status. "

- Manuel Berger from the online magazine laut.de about Hey
