The 10th Bundesvision Song Contest took place on September 20, 2014 in the Lokhalle Göttingen . After Bosse's victory last year, the state of Lower Saxony hosted the competition for the second time. For the first time since the first edition, the Bundesvision Song Contest took place on a Saturday evening.

The winner is Bremen with the band Gunslinger and the song Let's go with a record victory of 180 points - 192 points would have been a maximum possible - and most 12-point awards in the competition's history, namely 10 pieces. Second were Jupiter Jones from Rhineland-Palatinate, was third Teesy for Saxony-Anhalt.

Returning performers were Jupiter Jones (2011), Revolverheld (2006), Andreas Bourani (2011), Marteria (2009), Flo Mega (2011), DCVDNS (2013; member of the Inglebirds ) and Philipp Breitenstein (2013 with Hannes Kinder & Band; Member of Duerer ).

Returning composers were Dirk Berger (2009), David Conen (2006 and 2009), DJ Illvibe (2006 and 2009), Marten Laciny (2009), Niels Grötsch (2006), Kristoffer Hünecke (2006), Johannes Strate (2006), Andreas Bourani (2011), DCVDNS (2013), Sascha Eigner (2011) and Julius Hartog (2011). The composers Dirk Berger, David Conen and DJ Illvibe are represented with two compositions in one evening. David Conen and DJ Illvibe were already represented in 2009 with two compositions.

Max Mutzke is the first artist who, after taking part in the Eurovision Song Contest (2004), also took part in the Bundesvision Song Contest. Sandy Mölling and Nadja Benaissa (members of the No Angels ) had already done this in reverse order and Marta Jandová afterwards.

For the first time Stefan Raab moderated alone on stage, where he was supported by Elton from the Green Room , as in previous years . In place of the well-known films from earlier years, in which the artists and federal states were presented in a humorous way, there was a new form of film in which the artists were interviewed by Raab in a specially set up rehearsal cellar studio and with him and the heavy tones played music together.

With 1.44 million viewers, this was the competition with the highest ratings since 2011.

particularities

Right at the beginning of the BSC 2014, Björn Beton from Fettes Brot wished the BSC all the best in a pre-recorded article with the words "Congratulations on your tenth birthday, dear Bundesvision Song Contest." In doing so, he made a common mistake. This is because the tenth annual event takes place nine and not ten years after the first. In this case it was a good nine and a half years since the first BSCs took place in spring. The tenth birthday of the BSC was February 12, 2015 and was therefore in the future at the time of the BSC 2014.

After the second commercial break, Raab greeted the television viewer with the words:

“We're back at the 2014 Bundesvision Song Contest in the Lokhalle in Leipzig. We're looking for the winner of the tenth tonight ... "

- Stefan Raab

At this point he was interrupted by loud boos from the Göttingen audience and admitted that this mistake had already happened to him at the press conference because of the Lok Leipzig soccer club . In fact, he made the same mistake in a previous TV-total broadcast , of course, the Cologne audience present did not take this mistake as offensive as the people from Göttingen. In order to iron out his mistake, Raab asked the director to play the music again, which will be played when the advertising ends and the show continues. Raab disappeared from the stage during the live broadcast and got off to a good start again. In the further course of the program Raab received loud cheers from the audience whenever he said Lokhalle in Göttingen that the mistake never happened to him again.

The state of Bavaria was supposed to distribute its points first, but Energy Munich had not yet received the points. It was moved to the end and Hamburg started scoring.

This time there was no radio station for either North Rhine-Westphalia or Saxony-Anhalt to represent them. That is why comedian Dennis from Hürth awarded the points from a kiosk in Cologne and Peter Imhof from a Magdeburg bar.

Before the competition, Revolverheld bet not to win and otherwise to appear at the next Werder Bremen home game in the Weserstadion . After the victory, the band played their winning title on the following Tuesday, September 23, before the game against FC Schalke 04 .

Sampler

The sampler for the BSC 2014 was released on September 19, 2014. In contrast to the previous years, this sampler not only consists of the 16 entries from the competition and last year's winning song, it also includes a second CD with all the winners of the BSC. In addition, a viewer vote took place before the publication for the best contribution of the last nine years, which did not win the competition. The choice fell on Clueso with the title Keinen Centimeter , which can also be found on the sampler. In Germany, a BSC sampler made it into the top three of the compilation charts for the first time since 2008. In Austria, after 2005, a sampler entered the charts for the second time.

particularities

Andreas Bourani's song On other ways broke the record for the longest BSC contribution in the German single charts with at least 53 weeks.
In the ranking list, he is ahead of the article Let's Go by Gunslinger, which was also published this year and was in the charts for 35 weeks.
Bourani and Revolverheld break the record of Seeed , Peter Fox and Tim Bendzko , who were represented in the German charts for 26 weeks with their contributions in 2006, 2009 and 2011 respectively.
Andreas Bouranis On other ways is also the longest BSC contribution at 36 and 27 weeks in the Austrian and Swiss single charts.
