Johannes Strate
Johannes Strate (born March 17, 1980 in Bremen ) is a German singer . He became known as the singer and front man of the band Revolverheld .
Life
Johannes Strate is the son of a pianist and a teacher who was also a singer and guitarist. He grew up in Worpswede and started playing guitar when he was ten . At the age of 14 he formed his first band, Second Floor , which later became the band Privat , with which he had a three-year recording contract. The band's only officially released single, I'm sorry (I can't help it) , appeared on the compilation album VIVA Hits 13 . In 1998 he began vocal training, and in 2002 he took part in the Hamburg pop course . He wrote his bachelor thesis on the subject of the self-perception of pop musicians in contrast to media perception . In winter 2002 he founded the band Revolverheld with Kristoffer Hünecke, Niels Grötsch, Jakob Sinn and Florian Speer , which at that time was still called Manga . So far, the rock band has released four albums and enjoyed national success.
He is also one of the co-initiators of Feels like Home . This is a "music and reading" series to which singer-songwriters from all over the world are invited to Germany.
On September 30, 2011, his first solo album, The Characters Stand on Storm , was released, which he produced together with Philipp Steinke . It rose to number 21 in the German charts.
Together with Lena Meyer-Landrut and Henning Wehland , he was a coach and jury member in the second season of the Sat.1 casting show The Voice Kids . Also in the third season of 2015 he could be seen again (this time with Mark Forster and Lena).
In May 2016 he took part in an episode of the show Schlag die Star , he lost to the former professional soccer player Arne Friedrich .
In 2018 he took part in the fifth season of Sing my song - The exchange concert .
Private
Johannes Strate is in a relationship with the actress Anna Angelina Wolfers . Their son was born on December 17, 2012. Strate is a supporter of Werder Bremen and an ambassador of the club's own social initiative Werder moves for environmental protection.
Trivia
At the end of the 1990s, Strate played with the one year younger presenter Jan Böhmermann , who was also born in Bremen and attended another high school in the city, for a while in a band - at least that is the original, but now revised version.
