Henning Wehland (born December 2, 1971 in Bonn ) is a German rock musician .

Wehland was born in Bonn and lived in Münster-Wolbeck since he was five . At the local high school Wolbeck he passed his Abitur. He grew up in a street with Johann-Christoph “Mason” Maass, who together with Stephan “Gudze” Hinz had founded a band in his youth. It was through Hinz that Wehland met David Rebel, the owner of a dance studio in Münster, who was committed to helping music-interested students at the Wolbeck grammar school. In 1990, Wehland and three school friends, including Maass and Hinz, founded the band H-Blockx in Münster , whose singer, frontman and co-songwriter he is to this day. In addition, he has been singing with the Sons of Mannheim since 2007 and was part of the Heirs of the Shards , a tribute project for Rio Reiser .

In June 1996 he had a serious accident at the Woodstage Summer Open Air in the Saxon town of Glauchau when he jumped from the stage into the audience during a stage diving performance with the H-Blockx and collided with a 17-year-old festival visitor, the serious one Suffered fractures in the cervical spine and has suffered from the consequences ever since. Wehland dislocated a shoulder in the accident.

Together with Tim Humpe, Wehland founded the music office BLX-Music & Entertainment GmbH in 2001 , which is now the sole managing director and manager of bands such as Pohlmann and The BossHoss . Wehland has lived in Berlin since 2004 . In 2008, BLX-Music produced under the direction of Kira Zimmermann the pilot for the music format Lobby Sounds , which was broadcast on December 26th, 2008 on NDR .

Among other things, Wehland moderated the shows Zone Zwei and D-Tonal on the music broadcaster VIVA Zwei and produced other artists, mostly together with the Münster-based songwriter and producer Jan Löchel . He has performed with him as Duo Les Sauvignons for more than ten years. Wehland owns a music agency at the port of Münster . In 2010 he worked with Sasha and Jan Josef Liefers on the title Endlos Sommer on the Stefan Waggershausen album So ist das Spiel mit. Together with Tim Bendzko and Lena Meyer-Landrut , Wehland formed the jury for the casting show The Voice Kids , which was broadcast on Sat.1 in spring 2013 . The winner was his protégé Michèle. In 2014 he was on the jury of the show and won again, this time with the candidate Danyiom.

In September 2015 he was part of the jury for Superkids - The world's greatest little talents on Sat.1. On September 23, 2016 he released the single Bonnie & Clyde together with Sarah Connor . On January 27, 2017, his German-language album The Last at the Bar was released , on which Sarah Connor, LaBrassBanda and Xavier Naidoo appeared as guest musicians.

Since 2013, Wehland has repeatedly stated that he wants to become Lord Mayor of Münster as soon as he has moved his center of life from Berlin back to Münster. On September 16, 2019, he started a one-week internship with Markus Lewe , the incumbent Lord Mayor of Münster.
