Jan Löchel (* 1974 ) is a German music producer , songwriter , singer and composer .

He wrote film music for several German feature films, produced singles and albums of various music genres that were able to place themselves in the international charts and in 2002 took part in the German preliminary decision Countdown Grand Prix 2002 for the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 with a production . He also founded a music label in 2003 .

Löchel grew up in Schleswig-Holstein , where he played tennis in the Schleswig-Holstein selection in 1989. Today he lives in Münster-Angelmodde . His music studio is located at the port of Münster . He plays guitar and piano.

Career

Löchel learned to play the guitar in his youth and played in school bands. Löchel first appeared with his band at the age of 16. Löchel's first studio production took place with his band Lazy Strike as part of a rock school project in Steffi Stephan's studio . After graduating from high school, he played in several cover bands during his community service, with the income from which he financed his living.

Löchel's first publications with major labels took place in 1997 and 1998. In 1998, Löchel contributed the single Take Me Home to the production of the H-Blockx's Fly Eyes album . This was followed by more than 20 more singles for the H-Blockx over the next two decades. In 1999, Löchel wrote and produced music for the feature film Bang Boom Bang - Ein Todicheres Ding .

In 2000 Löchel was able to position himself in the international charts with his first music titles. The title Take Me Away (Into The Night) by 4 Strings , produced by Löchel, entered the UK single charts at number 15 on May 11, 2002. In 2002 Löchel took part in the soundtrack for the film What doesn't fit, is made suitable . For Natalie , Löchel and Vincent Sorg produced the title Don't Say Goodbye for the Countdown Grand Prix 2002 , the German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 , with which she reached fifth place. Löchel founded the music label , the publishing house and the production company Sunwater Music in 2003. In 2006, Löchel was involved in the production of the soundtrack for the film Reine Formsache . He was later involved in the production of the Guru Josh Project's cover version Infinity 2008 , which topped the charts in several countries. In addition, Löchel performed as a singer and guitarist at shows by ATB , for which he wrote several singles, including Believe in Me from 2005 and Feel Alive from 2007, and sang the vocals in front of more than 8,000 listeners. Furthermore he was u. a. for Sasha , Ingo Pohlmann , Rea Garvey , Thom. , Oomph! , Die Happy , 4 Strings, Ron van den Beuken , The Mystery , Rank 1 , the sons of Mannheims and Christina Stürmer , for which he has received multiple gold and platinum awards. The highest chart placement in Austria was achieved by Löchel on April 10, 2009 with the title I don't care by Christina Stürmer, who reached 8th place. For the Love Parade 2010 in Duisburg , Löchel sang the vocals for the hymn The Art Of Love , which Anthony Rother had composed.

Together with Burkhard Maria Fincke he wrote the soundtrack for the feature film Jonas - Imagine, it's school and you have to go back! . In 2011, Löchel produced the album For All Times for Alexander Klaws . In 2012, acoustic gigs followed with Ivy Quainoo , the winner of the first season of the music show The Voice of Germany . Through Henning Wehland , with whom Löchel has been performing for more than ten years as the duo "Les Sauvignons", named after a type of wine, Löchel has been advising the musicians of The BossHoss on the music show The Voice of Germany since the first season. Together with Tatjana Pinto and Silvia Andringa , Löchel formed the jury for “Halbstark”, the international theater festival for young people, in July 2012. Between 2012 and 2016, Löchel and his school friend Kai Grützemann sold delicacies from the Münsterland region under the name “Der kleine Münsterländer”.

Löchel released the EP Brand New Day in 2014, when he could again be seen at festivals. He also appeared in the opening act for the Hamburg band Wingenfelder .

In 2016, Löchel produced a solo project called JYLLAND in Anne de Wolff and Ulrich Rode's Bluhouse Studio in Hamburg . The project is named after the Danish name for the northern part of the Cimbrian Peninsula Jutland .
