The Mystery is a German metal band from Heiligenhaus , which was founded in March 1996. In the years 2002 and 2003 were two demo - albums added. Several concerts followed in North Rhine-Westphalia . After a few line-up changes, the debut album "Scars" was produced, which was released in 2005. Two years later, another album called "Soulcatcher" was produced, which was available in May of the following year, 2008. In 2012 the album "Apocalypse 666" was released with the current singer Iris Boanta.

After the band , which was founded in March 1996, played a few local concerts, the first major appearances at home and abroad followed with well-known bands such as " Die Happy " and " Subway to Sally ". In 2004 there were a few concerts with metal bands such as Suidakra , Majesty , Thyrfing , Raise Hell , Tankard , Die Apokalyptischen Reiter and Flowing Tears , which took The Mystery through Germany and to the Bosnian Goražde . In the same year the band got reinforcement by Mario Decher who took over the management of the band. Mario Decher brought experience to the band because he worked in various forms for other well-known artists such as The Lords or Michael Jackson .
On October 14, 2005 "Scars" was released, more concerts led the band until the publication in 2008 of the album Soul Catcher, through the cities of Germany. They played at various festivals, such as "Headbangers Night II" with " Paragon ", " Pure Inc. " And Josh Kramer from the American white metal legend "Saint", " Winter Night's Dream Festival " in Arnsberg with bands like " Suidakra ", " Ensiferum ", " Mystic Prophecy ", "Orden Ogan", " Contradiction ", " van Canto " and many more, United Metalheads Festival in Wuppertal with " Unrest " and "Wolfen".
In autumn 2008, The Mystery decided to add another guitarist to the band. To mark the 25th anniversary of Doro Pesch on stage , a tribute album was released in December 2008 via “ Pure Steel Records ” . The Mystery recorded the song " Bad Blood " by Doro Pesch especially for this sampler . The band was supported in the recordings by Siggi Bemm, who produced well-known artists such as Peter Maffay , Udo Lindenberg , Kreator and Lacuna Coil . The Mystery also played many concerts in 2008 and 2009 with bands such as Axxis , Chinchilla , Stormwarrior , Ivory Night , Mob Rules , Vengeance , Powerwolf , Motorjesus , The New Black, Last Instance , Mono Inc. , Grailknights , Primal Fear and Brainstorm .
Metal singer Iris Boanta has been singing at The Mystery since the end of 2011. In 2012 the album "Apocalypse 666" was released worldwide on CD and vinyl by Pure Steel Records.

The Mystery call their style "Female Fronted Melodic Metal". The style can be described as heavy metal based on the metal tradition of the 1980s, melodic and with a female rock voice.
