Revolverheld is a German pop rock band. Her most famous songs are crazy , hold on to me and I'll leave the light on for you .
Band history
The group was founded under the name Manga in the winter of 2002 in Hamburg . In the fall of 2004 she called herself Tsunami Killer . Since the tsunami at the end of 2004 , she has been called the gunslinger. She began her career with numerous small concerts between 2002 and 2004. As the opening act for Silbermond and Die Happy , the level of awareness rose gradually from 2005 onwards. With the song Rock 'n' Roll the first radio stations became aware of the band. In 2003 the band came third in the OXMOX band contest. In 2004 she was accepted by the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg in their band pool, where she received a coaching program for 18 months. In the same year the cooperation with manager Sascha Stadler, the managing director of the agency full: kontakt. In February 2005 Revolverheld signed a record deal with Columbia Germany .
The band's first single , Generation Rock , was released in June 2005 and hit the German charts straight away. Together with producer Clemens Matznick, the debut album Revolverheld was created , which was released in September 2005. The second single from it was the rock ballad The world stands still , which entered the charts at number 16. In February 2006, the third release " Friends remain ," was released, with which Revolverheld represented the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen at the Federal Vision Song Contest 2006 and thus took second place. The fourth single from their debut album was released in June 2006 and is titled Mit dir chilln . Revolverheld won the 1Live Krone music prize as Best Newcomer 2006 through an internet vote .
In May 2007 the second album was released with the name Chaostheorie . The first single I will change the world was released on April 27th and has been the signature tune of the format Deine Chance! 3 applicants - 1 job on ProSieben . It rose to number 21 in the German charts. The second single is called Du Explodierst and was limited to 5555 copies. The costumes in the accompanying video clip are based on the film A Clockwork Orange . In September 2007 the single Unzertrennlich was released , which reached number 45 in the German charts. The band was nominated by the German Football Association to sing the official national team fan song for the 2008 European Football Championship , which is called Helden 2008 and reached number 2 in the German single charts. Since 2009, the band members have regularly participated in the charity soccer game Kicken mit Herz .
In 2010, the first single Spinner was released from the album In Farbe , which entered the top 20 of the German single charts. A music video was also shot for this. A little later, In Farbe appeared and entered the top 10 of the album charts as the third album in a row. In November of that year, the band released another song, Hold on to me . This was recorded together with the front singer of the band Die Happy , Marta Jandová , and presented in the talent show Popstars , in which Jandová acts as a juror . Hold on to me reached number eight in the charts in Germany and was the first single in the group to be awarded gold. Furthermore, the album In Farbe was awarded gold in May 2011.
In August 2013, Das Can't Taking Off Us was released as the first single release from the album Always in Motion , which was released in September 2013. In July 2013, the theme song of the same name was released as a video and made available for free download on iTunes . In January 2014, the band released the music video I'll leave the lights on for you . The clip was made when the band helped a friend propose marriage. Revolverheld took over the music sponsorship of Philipp Göhring at the casting show Dein Song in 2014. Together they played the song Who knows , but lost against DJ BoBo and his protégé Pier Luca Abel in the final on April 4th . On September 20, 2014, Revolverheld won the Bundesvision Song Contest 2014 for Bremen with Lass uns geht , the third single from Immer inbewegung . In 2015 they played an MTV Unplugged , which was released as a video album and a live album.
On December 1, 2017, Gunslinger released their first single in two years with The Heart Beats Up to Your Neck . It's the theme song for the movie That Stupid Heart . At the beginning of March 2018, the first single of their fifth album Zimmer mit Blick , which was released on April 13, 2018, was released with Immer noch haben . It reached number 2 in the German charts as well as number 3 in Austria and number 15 in Switzerland. After the album was released, Still Still Feeling reached a chart position.

- Johannes Strate (born March 17, 1980) is the singer of Revolverheld.
- Kristoffer Hünecke (born May 12, 1978) is the guitarist for Revolverheld.
- Niels Kristian Hansen (born April 22, 1980, née Grötsch ) is the guitarist for Revolverheld. He started playing guitar at the age of nine and received classical guitar lessons for five years. At 14 he joined a school band and took electric guitar lessons. After a few smaller bands, he founded the group Freiraum together with Jakob Sinn and Kristoffer Hünecke .
- Jakob Sinn (born December 20, 1980) is the drummer for Revolverheld. He started playing drums at the age of ten and took drum lessons. He later gave lessons himself and also worked as a photo model.
- Florian "Flo" Speer (born June 10, 1977) played bass with Revolverheld. At the age of nine he took guitar lessons - he taught himself to play bass. After various smaller bands and The Skatoons , he finally came to Revolverheld. In November 2012 it was announced that Florian Speer is leaving the band.
- Chris Rodriguez accompanies the band on tour on bass.
Political
Revolverheld appeared on May 10, 2014 at the "Energiewende-Demo" in Berlin and supported the demands. For the European Football Championship 2016, the group appeared on the satirical program extra3 and played a modified version of Lass uns geht together with Christian Ehring and Heinz Strunk . In the text they parodied and criticized "concerned citizens" and their rejection of national players with a migration background . On October 6, 2018, the band performed in the Hambach Forest to support the demonstrators for the coal exit.
