Christian Ehring (born September 18, 1972 in Rheinhausen ) is a German television presenter , cabaret artist , author and musician .

Career

Christian Ehring was born in Rheinhausen in 1972 and grew up in Krefeld . In 1990 he founded the cabaret Die Scheinheiligen with Eva Bitterlich and Volker Diefes , which won various cabaret prizes, including St. Ingberter Pfanne and Obernburger Mühlstein . In 1998 he joined the ensemble of the Düsseldorfer Kom (m) ödchens with Diefes . From 1998 to 2002 Ehring appeared in the Kom (m) ödchen productions The Last Days of Erkrath , Amok and Big News , in which he was also involved as an author and composer. From 2002 to 2006 Ehring performed mainly as a solo artist and worked as an author for Dieter Hallervorden , Distel (Berlin) , Herkuleskeule (Dresden) , Leipziger Pfeffermühle and the Cologne Stunksitzung as well as for Käpt'n Blaubär and Friday Night News .

In 2006 Ehring returned to Kom (m) ödchen, this time as an ensemble member, author, composer and artistic director. Together with Maike Kühl and Heiko Seidel he is there in the pieces Couch. A home evening as well as sushi. A requiem and freaks. To see a settlement . Since May 2009 he has been part of the heute-show team . In July 2011 he took over the moderation of Extra 3 . During the 2011 summer break of “heute-show” he moderated the short version “heute-show xxs”.

Ehring lives in Düsseldorf and has two daughters.

In connection with the video Erdowie, Erdowo, Erdogan broadcast in the satire show Extra 3 on March 17, 2016, diplomatic resentments arose with Turkey. In particular, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was upset about what he saw as being disrespectful to his person. The German ambassador in Ankara was summoned and the German government was forced to comment. Both the ambassador and the deputy government spokeswoman distanced themselves from the allegations made by Turkey and defended freedom of the press and freedom of expression. EU Commission President Juncker also intervened. "He does not welcome the fact that the German ambassador was only called up because of a satirical song," said a spokeswoman for Junckers. He believes that this "moves Turkey further away from the EU instead of bringing it closer to us".

On March 30, 2016, moderator Ehring followed suit and ironically named the Turkish President “Employee of the Month”. The program shows the video again, in which Erdogan's pictures are blended with satirical lyrics - this time also with Turkish subtitles. “Maybe Erdogan didn't understand the contribution?” Asked moderator Christian Ehring.

In an Extra 3 broadcast on April 27, 2017, Ehring described Alice Weidel as a “Nazi bitch” because Weidel said at the AfD party congress that political correctness belongs on the “rubbish heap of history”. Alice Weidel then filed a criminal complaint against Ehring, which, however, was rejected.
