Peter Imhof (born August 9, 1973 in Northeim ) is a German moderator .

Life

Until he graduated from high school in 1993 in his home town of Osterode am Harz , Peter Imhof occasionally worked as a comedian in the context of cabaret . With his partner Andreas Senkler he performed at cabaret and theater festivals as well as at the summer festival of the Federal President and as part of a two-month tour in Japan, among other places.

After school, Imhof worked as a presenter at Radio Westfalica in Minden and at the same time did his community service in Bückeburg. In 1995 he started an internship at the private radio station radio ffn . He then worked there for two years as a presenter for the morning program and the afternoon program. In addition, Imhof gained his first experience in television. For example, in 1997 he did the warm-up for the Schreinemakers program live .

In January 1999 Imhof moved to Berlin, where he presented the programs “MTV live from Berlin” and “Select MTV” for the music broadcaster MTV Germany . In February 1999, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the TKKG book series, a song was published that was interpreted by Imhof.

In the spring of 2000 Imhof's one-hour daily talk show "Peter Imhof" started at lunchtime on the private television station Sat.1 . Imhof achieved an entry in the Guinness Book of Records by moderating for 24 hours, only interrupted by two quarter-hour breaks. Six programs were recorded during this time. In order to achieve the record, he also moderated the 18 hours of advertising, renovation and make-up breaks. The moderations apart from the broadcasts were never broadcast.

After his program was canceled on Sat.1, Imhof presented the program “City Lounge” on the regional television broadcaster SunTV in Munich at the end of 2001 together with Andrea Wieser .

After a brief guest appearance on the Bremen 4 radio station , Imhof became the presenter of the afternoon magazine “ Hier ab vier ” at MDR in 2003 . For the ARD feature film "Heimweh nach Drüben" Imhof stood in front of the camera with actors such as Wolfgang Stumph , Katrin Sass and Jürgen Tarrach . On various occasions, such as the Popkomm , the Bundesvision Song Contest , the Berlin Cinema Night, CeBIT or the Hip-Hop World Cup 2005 in Graz, Imhof took on the role of moderator. Together with a friend, Imhof works in the band “Fake Mc's”. In January 2008 he took part in the " Perfect Celebrity Dinner ". In 2010 he had a brief guest appearance on the ARD series In aller Freundes , in which he played a journalist.

On August 8, 2008 Peter Imhof married Eva Schulz , a journalist who previously worked for SWR and currently n-tv , with whom he had twin daughters, who were born in 2012.

On March 14, 2015 he took part in the TV total - Wok World Cup. Together with Sandra Kiriasis , Sven Hannawald and Jan Kralitschka he formed the 4-wok for the GDR team . In the end, the team came in second, behind Team Austria .

In 2017 he and his wife published the book "With us it's shitty: Failure as parents - but right!"
