content

The lyrics to On other ways are written in German. The music was written by Bourani and Julius Hartog, the text by Bourani. The lead vocals of the pop song are from Bourani; the accompanying singing by Julius Hartog and Philipp Steinke.

Universal described the piece as a "melancholy farewell song" to a failed love. In other ways it is “a call to let go and be free”.

Bourani himself described his song in the following words:

In other ways , the story of a relationship ending and a breakup is always very painful, it's a bit like a little death actually. But in the song I didn't focus so much on this pain and the phases that you go through when you've split up, but more on why you split up, because you just feel a different energy, because you're doing something else would like to experience what new needs, because you have also drifted apart and you can no longer find each other and then just walk on different paths. "

- Andreas Bourani, on In other ways in a track-by-track of his album Hey
