Kid Simius (born October 3, 1987 in Granada ; real name José Antonio García Soler ) is a Spanish musician, producer and live act. He is best known for his collaboration on the third Marsimoto album Grüner Velvet and appearances with Marsimoto and Marteria .
Life
Kid Simius began making electronic music at the age of 16 and occasionally had smaller appearances as a DJ . After graduating from school, he began studying psychology. At the age of 22 he broke off his studies and moved from the city in Andalusia to Berlin to make a career there with his music.
In the same year he became part of Marterias tour crew and performed together with the Rostock rapper at his gigs. In 2010 Kid Simius' first EP Who The Fuck Is Kid Simius? at Plaff Records. He was booked more and more often as a club act, and it took him to Oslo . Also at the Marteria performances, Kid Simius came into its own and was able to present himself better and better. He appeared more and more frequently in the support act of other artists, in May 2011 on the Verstrahlt Tour in the sold-out Columbiahalle in Berlin .
In the same year, Green Berlin prepared the third Marsimoto album Grüner Samt , in which Kid Simius was also involved as a beat maker for the first time. Together with Dead Rabbit, Nobody's Face, Robot Koch and The Krauts, he worked on the album with Marsimoto in a specially rented house near Kid Simius' hometown Granada.
In March 2012 Kid Simius released his second EP El Clásico with an edition of 800 copies. Despite this small edition, his fame as a solo artist rose. Kid Simius also took part in the Marteria EP Lila Wolken, which was released on September 14, 2012 . In 2013 Kid Simius also went on tour with the Marsimoto sound system and also performed alone.
For the single Engelsstaub from the January 2014 EP Der goldene Käfig by Berlin-based rapper Mortis, he contributed part of the instrumentation ("Additional Guitars").
On March 7, 2014, Kid Simius released the mini-album Wet Sounds . In it he tried to bring the guitar back into electronic music in a "cool way", on the other hand it is a way of dealing with his Spanish roots.
In 2015 the fourth Marsimoto album Ring Der Nebelungen was prepared. Together with Nobodys Face, The Krauts, Marsimoto, Bendma and Dead Rabbit, he developed the album in Jamaica. He announced a new EP for September.
