The Columbiahalle (also C-Halle ) in the Berlin district of Tempelhof on the border with Kreuzberg is a venue for pop and rock concerts. The hall offers space for 3,500 visitors without seats and 1,400 with seats.

history

Opposite Tempelhof Airport , the Columbiahalle was built in 1951 as a sports hall for the US soldiers stationed in Berlin and their relatives and visitors. After their withdrawal in 1994, the building complex was closed and reopened in 1998 after renovation. A comprehensive renovation took place in 2014 . On September 2, 2019, the Columbiahalle was temporarily renamed Knorkatorhalle in honor of the Berlin rock band Knorkator .

The interior offers space for 3,500 spectators on 1150 m².

Columbia Theater

The former Columbia cinema in 2011, then called Columbiaclub

On the same site, right next to the Columbiahalle, there is a former cinema that is now also used as an event location. Known as Columbia Fritz between 1998 and 2002 , then as Columbiaclub or C-Club , it has been called Columbia Theater since October 8, 2015 .
