Do not look back is a song of the German Pop - and rap - duo Xavas . The piece is the first single from her debut album Split Personality and winner of the Bundesvision Song Contest 2012 .

The song was written by Milan Martelli , Xavier Naidoo, Matthew Tasa and Savas Yurderi (Kool Savas). The single was produced by Milan Martelli. The single was released under the Naidoo Records label and distributed by Sony / ATV Music Publishing and Hanseatic Warner Chappell . In Do not look back do not is the first single release of Xavier Naidoo and Kool Savas. Under their stage names, the two released the single Aura a year earlier on October 21, 2011 . Aura was placed in all DA-CH countries and is on Kool Sava's fifth studio album Aura . Before Aura they already recorded tracks together, but they were only released on studio albums.

The music video for Schau nicht zurück was filmed in July 2012 on the Grossglockner in Austria and celebrated its premiere on August 24, 2012. On the one hand, it shows Xavas moving around the Grossglockner area on foot and in cars ( Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Bentley Continental GT ), singing or rapping the song. and on the other hand, a mountaineer can be seen climbing the Großglockner. The length of the video is 3:53 minutes. Directed by Kolja Brandt . The video was produced by Rocco Kopecny.

Bundesvision Song Contest 2012

Xavas won the Bundesvision Song Contest 2012 for Baden-Württemberg with a 30 point lead over the band Laing , who played for Saxony , with the song Mornings Always tired (142 points). During the scoring of all 16 federal states , Xavas set themselves apart relatively early on, with a small margin from their competitors. In addition to their home country Baden-Württemberg, they also got full points from Bavaria , Berlin , Hesse , Rhineland-Palatinate and Saxony-Anhalt . This was the eighth edition of the Bundesvision Song Contest .

For promotional purposes, every artist shoots an election commercial for participation in the BuViSoco. In this you can see Xavas and some sights in Heidelberg .

Look no longer back reached position two in the single charts in Germany and stayed in the charts for a total of 22 weeks. In Austria the single reached position 14 in 16 chart weeks and in Switzerland position three in 22 chart weeks. Although the song did not make it to number one, it was still the most successful German-language song in the German single charts for a period of three weeks and the most successful German-language song in the Austrian single charts for two weeks . In the 2012 annual single charts, the track was placed at position 57 in Germany and at position 45 in Switzerland.

Don't look back is to this day Xavas' most successful chart single in all German-speaking countries , and it is also the most successful chart single of all participants in the Bundesvision Song Contest .
