The Digital Imaging Technician ( DIT for short ) is a profession in the film industry.

This independent and specialized technician is a consultant for the camera department. He supports the camera crew in their technical and creative work with the electronic camera . In addition, he works in preparation as well as during the shooting and is therefore the link between post-production and the location .

requirements

A DIT should have knowledge of the processes involved in film and television production and of the common cameras, storage media and their options. Knowledge of video and digital technology, measurement technology (waveform monitor, vectorscope , histogram ) and camera-related tools for quality control must be available. The basics of lighting, optics and filter science, color theory and technical lighting should also have been learned or experienced.
