Pierre Péan (2011)

Pierre Péan (born March 5, 1938 in Sablé-sur-Sarthe , Département Sarthe ; † July 25, 2019 ) was a French journalist and author of several books on political scandals.

Publications

In 1982 Péan described in Les Deux Bombes (comment la France a donné la bombe à Israël et à l'Irak) how France helped Israel to get its own atomic bomb. In 1990 he described the politician Jacques Foccart in his work L'Homme de l'ombre ('Man of Shadows') . In 1994 he published Une jeunesse française: François Mitterrand ('A French Youth: François Mitterrand'), a description of the life of François Mitterrand from 1934 to 1947. The book became a bestseller .

In the book Manipulations Africaines ('African manipulations') from 2001, he describes the UTA flight 772 : An airplane crashed on September 19, 1989 due to a bomb attack in Niger . In 2003, Pierre Péan published La Face cachée du Monde ('The Hidden Face of Le Monde '). In 2005 he published Noires fureurs, blancs menteurs. Rwanda , 1990–1994 ('Black furies, white liars. Rwanda, 1990–1994'), on the genocide in Rwanda.
