Rüdiger Skoczowsky is a German pop singer who became known through the casting show The Voice of Germany .

biography

Skoczowsky comes from Pulheim near Cologne and has sung in the choir since he was eight years old. In 2009 he went to Hamburg to study singing. In 2011 he applied to the talent show The Voice of Germany . At the blind auditions he made the leap into Xavier Naidoo's team and survived the battle round with a performance by What a Wonderful World . Although he had received special praise from Naidoo, he was not selected by the audience or his coach in the first group round and was eliminated. His version of Without You by David Guetta then made it to number 80 in the German charts.

In the summer of 2012, Skoczowsky and Katja Friedenberg (who also participated in The Voice of Germany ) could not be heard back in the background at Xavas and their single Schau . The single won the Bundesvision Song Contest in 2012 , placed second in the German single charts and was awarded a gold record . In autumn 2012 he sang the German national anthem at the “Century Game” between former national soccer players from Germany and Italy. He also took part in Naidoo's project Sing for Your Life . The song You are there for me , in which he sang the lead with Giovanni Costello, was the most successful song of the project in the charts. Since 2017 he has worked as a voice trainer in the music show Xavier's request concert live .
