Matthew Tasa (* 1978 in Frankfurt am Main ) is an American music producer , songwriter and singer . He celebrated his greatest success as a singer with the group Fusion and their top 30 hit China in Your Hand . As a songwriter he worked a. a. for Xavier Naidoo , Giovanni Zarrella , Mehrzad Marashi , Part Six , Tatana , Anna Maria Kaufmann , Tone , Azad and Kitty Kat .

biography

Youth and first musical experiences

Matthew Tasa began a classical music education at the age of five with a focus on piano lessons. He enjoyed piano training for a total of 11 years. At the age of 13 he wrote his first compositions and worked for the first time with professional producers. At the age of 15, Tasa decided to take singing lessons. At 16 he attended the Frankfurt School of Performing Arts, the Scream Factory , where he was taught by George Liszt, Amy Leverenz and Joe Whitney.

First successes

In 1995 Matthew Tasa recorded his first song with producer Vernon Baur, longtime producer of trance DJ Talla 2XLC . In the months that followed, Matthew worked on musical projects. Among other things, he worked as a singer with the Turkish group Intikam , published his first production on the rave compilation "Summer Rave 96" in 1996 and gave private singing lessons in 1997 at the FIS (Frankfurt International School).

Commercial breakthrough

In 1998 Matthew composed the song For the Sake of Love , which came out a year later with the title "China in your Hand". In 1999 the collaboration with the trance producer Torsten Stenzel and the DJane DJ Tatana from Switzerland began. In the current year various single releases followed under the name DJ Tatana - More Than Words (reached Top 20 in Switzerland) and in 1999 was the official Street Parade anthem.

At the age of 20, Tasa signed a record deal with BMG / RCA as a member and co-founder of the band Fusion . The first release of Fusion was the song China In Your Hand , with which the band celebrated their first success. The track was in the German Media Control Charts for 17 weeks, including 3 weeks at number 27. The song was at number 7 in the Swiss charts. Shortly afterwards, the second single You Make Me Feel and the accompanying album "Infusion One" followed. In addition to his role as a singer, Tasa also took on the role of co-writer of the group.

In 2000, the band members went their separate ways again.

In the years 2002–2004 Matthew Tasa was responsible for composition & studio work and releases with DJ Dag and the producer Boris Bruchhaus. In 2002 Tasa produced and published her own composition Drive So Far for the American / European duo Martin & Johnson (contract with Warner Music ). The title was later reproduced by Peter Ries .

In 2004 and 2005, Matthew Tasa worked with singer Jessica Wahls ( No Angels ) as a support / backup singer. In 2005 Tasa worked with Jessica Wahls on her German-language album and was also active as a backup singer on the record. The recordings were followed in the same year by live performances with Jessica Wahls, Rolf Stahlhofen & Friends and Claus Eisenmann ( Sons of Mannheim ).

In 2004 Tasa composed the song Alive in memory of his close friend and musician Paul Morris. The song ended up on Anna Maria Kaufmann's first pop / classic album .

Matthew Tasa's songs received honorable mentions in the ISC Songwriting Competitions, and his song Inhale, Exhale also made it to the final of the 2007 competition.

Together with his partner Manuel Rongioletti, Tasa founded his own company in 2007 with the songwriting agency Stereo Minds . Their song Drive So Far became the second release of the band Part Six ( EMI ). The song reached the top 50 of the German charts.

From 2007 to 2010 Tasa participated in several artist projects. He played a key role in the production and composition of the album Phantom des rapper Tone in 2009, and at the end of the year he also worked on the debut album Miyo by the Berlin rapper Kitty Kat . He was also the singer of DJ Antoine's single Every Breath , which entered the Swiss and Austrian charts.

Also at the end of 2009, the album Alles kann werden better ( number one album in Germany ) by Xavier Naidoo was released , on which Tasa wrote the song of the same name together with Martelli . In 2010 the second single " Please don't stop dreaming" was released. At this, Tasa and Martelli also took over the music arrangement.

Since 2010 Matthew Tasa has been the voice of Morris Jones, a dance / house project by Peter Kunz, and has released three singles from which Goldfever was able to place in the German dance charts.
