Fusion (R&B band)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Fusion was an active pop / R&B group from Germany from 1998 to 2000.

Band history

The formation consisted of four members, namely the singer Matthew Tasa (who wrote the music and lyrics for most of the group's songs), Mukaddes Toker, Denise Modjallal (who released a solo album under the name Ateed in 2003) and the rapper Harun Özüaydin. Responsible for the band was the Paramusic producer team founded by Heiko Schmidt and Roberto "Geo" Rosan , who also initiated the Sweetbox project .

The band's first single was called China In Your Hand , which despite the title had no similarities to the song of the same name by the group T'Pau . The song was able to stay in the German single charts for 19 weeks and in the Swiss charts for 13 weeks . The accompanying music video was included in VIVA 's rotation, followed by interviews and appearances at GIGA , Top of the Pops and The Dome . The song was also featured on sampler series such as Bravo Hits .

After the success of the song, another single, You Make Me Feel, was released and then the debut album In Fusion One . Both releases failed to get into the charts. In January 2000 one tried in vain to build on the success of China In Your Hand with a cover version of the song Toy Soldier by Martika , which was not included on the album . This title could not be placed in the hit lists either. It was the final release of Fusion . The group then broke up.
