Jessica Wahls
Jessica Martina Wahls (born February 2, 1977 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German pop singer and was a member of the German girl group No Angels .
Life
Jessica Wahls lives in Rodheim , a district of Rosbach vor der Höhe , where she grew up. Her Afro-American father is from Washington and her mother is German. In 2000 Jessica had a relationship with Walter Unterweger , a Big Brother candidate . From 2001 to 2008 she was in a relationship with the dancer , choreographer and restaurateur Sascha Dickreuter, who is also the father of her daughter, who was born in March 2003. In autumn 2009 Wahls announced the separation from him.
Musical creation
Start of career
Wahls gained his first musical experience on the program Mini Stars . Jessica Wahls broke off her training as a travel agent a few weeks before her final exam in order to be able to become a member of the casting girl group No Angels for the first season of the show Popstars .
No Angels
In September 2000, Jessica Wahl to five women during the first season of the counted by RTL II broadcast Casting competition Popstars as members of the girl group No Angels were selected. In December 2002 she had to leave the band due to her baby break. She did not return to the group for the time being. At the end of 2003 the group broke up with the release of the album The Best of No Angels and the single Reason , which was again released together with Wahls, in favor of a longer break and solo careers. In January 2007 Jessica Wahls started a comeback with three other founding members of the No Angels with the album Destiny . After the band only existed as a trio from 2010, the three remaining band members concentrated again on their solo careers. The band only got back together for a few appearances. After a last joint appearance in early 2013 for the RTL II's birthday show, the creative break in June 2014 turned into a final separation.
Solo career
Jessica started her solo career in 2003 with the single Ten Steps Back , which stayed in the German sales charts for eight weeks. She also took part in the TV Allstars charity project and released the song Do They Know It's Christmas? With other music artists . . Part of the proceeds went to the SOS Children's Villages as donations.
In 2004 she released her second single Don't Get Me Started . She also recorded the track When We Kiss with Marshall & Alexander for their album Lovers Forever .
Her title Du bist wie ich , published in spring 2005, was used as the theme song for the show KIKA Live . In this program she was also in front of the camera at the end of August 2006 for the project Dancing with the Stars . In May 2005 she was featured in German Playboy . She also posed for the men's magazine Maxim . Her last single to date, entitled Unconditionally , was released on November 4, 2005. In 2005, she also appeared on the 9Live Show 9Live Quizfabrik for a few times . Further presentations for the TV channels VIVA and MTV followed. In a series of ProSieben telecast We are Family! reported about Wahls' life.
She has been working with the Neckermann mail order company since 2006 , which she initially only represented at events. In 2007 and 2008 she and Neckermann designed her own children's fashion line Mäuselinchen , for which her daughter is a model. In the same year she moderated two seasons of the show Entertierment on the TV channel Tier TV . She also supported the Heinz-der-Stier-Stiftung. To support the project, she sang the song You are not alone .
In 2009 she starred in horror films for the Terenzi Horror Nights.
From February 2011 to November of the same year, she hosted her own radio show on Radio Energy Monday through Friday . She is also committed to the aid organization CARE , for which she recorded the title Reach Out Your Hand . Since March 2012 she has been working for the music department of the radio station MDR Jump .
