Welcome to the Dance ( English for Welcome to the dance is) the fifth studio album of the German pop band No Angels . It was released on September 11, 2009 under the Polydor and Universal Music Domestic labels and includes productions by Nasri Atweh, Adam Messinger and Aaron Pearce. The record reached number 26 in the German album charts and was therefore the first record by the band that did not make it into the top ten of the German album charts. In total, the album sold over 10,000 times.
background
After the release of the comeback album Destiny in 2007 and participation in the 53rd Eurovision Song Contest on May 24, 2008 in Belgrade , the No Angels began work on their new studio album in July 2008 under the new management of Khalid Schröder. In July 2008, the No Angels flew to Los Angeles to write songs for the band together for the first time. The band received new support from new American producers and songwriters, including Nasri Atweh, Adam Messinger, Rick Nowels and Aaron Pearce.
The album Welcome to the Dance is the No Angels' weakest commercially. In Germany the band was only able to reach number 26, in Austria number 65 and in Switzerland number 95. For the first time an album by No Angels did not reach the top ten in Germany and was only represented in the German charts for two weeks.
Single releases
Even before the album was released, the song One Life was released in August 2009 , in which all band members were involved. The title reached number 15 in the German charts.
In October 2009 Derailed was announced as the second single and should be released on November 27, 2009. Although the song has already been sent out as a promo CD and the band promoted the song on various TV appearances such as The Dome 52, the release was tipped just four days before the planned release date due to unknown reasons.
music
For the first time, an album by the band can be classified as dance music rather than pop music, which sets it apart from the four other studio albums.
